A Twisted Tale: The Haunting Experience on Highway 61
Zywiec’s Haunting Experience on Highway 61 has a twisted past, it is rumored that almost 200 years ago, this plot of wooded land in what is now known at Cottage Grove was known as ‘Creuse Morte’ by French trappers and fur traders, ‘Kirottu’ by Finnish settlers, and ‘Cursed’ or ‘Dead Hollow’ by the earliest English speaking people to arrive in the area. By whatever name it was referred to, it was widely regarded as an evil place, and one to be avoided. Travelers making their way down the Mississippi river in those early days either carried talismans to protect themselves from the darkness they thought would be set against them, or they portaged for miles to circumvent the area altogether.
During this Halloween season, you can visit this area and meet the twisted people who call this place home. A talisman won’t protect you from the creatures lurking in the darkness off of Highway 61.
Open every weekend until Saturday, November 1st, The Haunting Experience will make you scream with a trip through the Manor House and a hayride that brings you around this frightening property. Who knows who or what you will run into while you’re there?
Only if you dare…
